Birmingham Cityscape
Long exposures, time lapse and star trails

Birmingham Cityscape

Above: An 8 second exposure at f11, ISO 200 of Downtown Birmingham from Crest Road South.

Below: Battling a full moon and the city lights, I was able to capture a few stars over Birmingham on this trip. If you look closely at the first image, you can make out the Big Dipper. I’ve outlined it in the second photo below.

Below: Comprised of almost 300 images taken over the course of about an hour (13″ exp, ISO 200) between Midnight and 1 a.m. on August 2, 2015, you can see the path of those stars in this image. It was my first attempt at star trails from this location, but it won’t be the last.

And since we’ve taken all of these images anyway, why not make a time lapse! These are the same images that make up the star trails photo above. Look closely! It’s best viewed in 1080p HD.
